My Journey from Freelance to Framestore Montreal

When I first stepped into Framestore Montreal’s office as a Paint and Roto Artist, a mix of excitement and nerves coursed through me. Coming from a freelance background, the prospect of working with such a renowned company in the visual effects industry was both thrilling and daunting.

As I settled into my role, I quickly realized that my freelance experience had equipped me with a diverse skill set that proved valuable to my team. The ability to adapt quickly, manage time effectively, and approach problems creatively were assets I brought from my independent work.

However, the transition wasn’t without its challenges. I soon discovered that the quality standards at Framestore were on another level, particularly in roto and paint work. This pushed me to elevate my skills, refining my techniques and paying even closer attention to detail. The learning curve was steep, but incredibly rewarding.

One of the most unexpected and cherished outcomes of this experience was the friendships I formed. The collaborative environment at Framestore fostered connections that have stood the test of time. To this day, I treasure the bonds I made with my colleagues, who started as co-workers and became dear friends.

My debut at Framestore Montreal marked a significant milestone in my career. It taught me the value of pushing beyond my comfort zone, the importance of continuous learning, and the power of teamwork in creating world-class visual effects. This experience not only enhanced my professional skills but also enriched my personal life, making it a truly transformative chapter in my journey as an artist.
